New Features for Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses
Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses have been enhanced with exciting new features over the past few months. A standout addition is the ability to post stories directly to Instagram without needing a phone. Users can now share images taken with their Ray-Ban sunglasses directly to their Instagram stories.
Meta has announced several updates for their Ray-Ban glasses, including support for Amazon Music and the meditation app Calm.
How to Post Photos
Users can prompt their glasses to share pictures either before or after taking them. After snapping a photo, simply say, “Hey Meta, share my last photo to Instagram,” or “post a photo to Instagram” before taking a new picture. Alternatively, you can use the Meta View app:
- Open the Meta View app.
- Navigate to the gallery section.
- Select the photos you want to share.
- Choose to share on Instagram, Instagram Story, WhatsApp, Facebook Story, or Facebook Post.
Remember to connect your Instagram account to the Meta app to share images on Instagram. The Instagram profile linked to Meta View will always be the one currently active on your mobile phone. Switching between different profiles may disrupt the connection between Meta View and Instagram.
Additional Features
Meta has also partnered with the meditation app Calm to provide guided meditation and mindfulness exercises on the go. Ray-Ban buyers can enjoy a free three-month subscription to Calm for meditation practice.
Additionally, the glasses are equipped to stream Amazon Music. By saying, “Hey Meta, play Amazon Music,” the glasses will play a recommended playlist. Users can adjust the volume and tracks using voice commands or touch controls. Previously, Ray-Ban glasses supported Spotify, and they have now added Apple Music as well.
Stay tuned for more updates and features as Meta continues to enhance the capabilities of their Ray-Ban Smart Glasses.
AI Enhanced Features
In April, Meta upgraded the Ray-Ban smart glasses with a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and integrated audio, along with an AI assistant. The assistant allows users to operate the glasses with voice commands and access real-time data. Additionally, Meta began testing a multimodal AI feature that lets users ask questions about what they are seeing and receive helpful responses.
